3 Ways to Market Your Services Without Social Media

Uncategorized Oct 28, 2019

Social media can be overwhelming.  There are so many platforms to choose from.  And there are so many gurus saying you must post daily.  Then there's the issue of not wanting to post selfies or videos. Ugh!

So how is an introverted entrepreneur supposed to get more clients when you resist social media?

The good news is, there are ways to attract clients and market your services without social media.

3 Ways to Market Your Services Without Social Media

  1. Offer a freebie from a landing page
"Freebie,"  "Opt-in," "Lead Magnet," all mean the same thing.  And offering one is a great way to get people to sign up for your email list.  Your email list is still a very powerful marketing tool and should be used on the regular!  But people need a reason to sign up for your list.

If your opt-in form says, "Join my list for updates," or something to that effect, it doesn't give the potential customer a reason to subscribe.  Simply change the copy to reflect WHY your customer should give you their email.

Offer a .pdf download that the customer gets immediately after signing up.  For example: if you help your client lose weight, offer a mini report on ways you can lose weight without dieting.  Make sure your freebie provides a valuable education for your customer.

Your freebie should have it's own landing page.  Even if you don't have a website, you can use a service like MailChimp or LeadPages to make a landing page.

A landing page is essentially a one-page website that only has one function -- to get people to join your list.  Advertise your freebie on your business card and when talking to people.  And......

  2. Post your blogs and landing pages on Pinterest
Now before you recoil and say, "I thought this article was about marketing without social media" hear me out.  Pinterest is not social media!  It's a search engine.  If you've used it, you go on there searching for ideas.  And guess what?  So do your customers!

So your blogs and landing pages can be found - easier than Google - when they are pinned on Pinterest.  Yes, it's an extra step after you've published a blog to post it on Pinterest, but it's free traffic to your website!

This pin on my Pinterest account has had 23 link clicks in the last 30 days.  When your goal is to send traffic to your website, link clicks is what you should track.  Note that doing keyword research is an important part of the strategy for any search engine.

  3. Speak on a "stage"
I know this may be asking you to step outside of your comfort zone.  And I also want to define what I mean by "stage."  It can be an actual stage where you speak to a live audience from a high platform.  Or it can be:
    - a live event like a local networking meeting, book club, moms group, rotary meeting, etc.
    - a podcast that you are a guest on
    - a guest blog on a strategic partners website
    - a webinar

The point is that you are getting your message out via channels other than your own.

You absolutely can market your services without social media.  Growing your business means taking action steps.  So which one of these three ideas can you implement?
